Herminia Lara of Gilroy California passed away peacefully on August 3rd 2017 in Modesto California. She was born in Big Wells Texas on April 25th 1923 daughter of the late Leonardo and Rebecca Alfaro. She preceded in death by her loving husband Nicolas Lara Sr. and her 2 sons Nick Lara Jr. and Oscar Lara. She was survived by her children Modesto Lara, Ernesto Lara (Lorena), Viola Alcala (Louie) and Edna Lara. She also survived by 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren as well as her sister Ofelia Moncada.

She was a loving mother grandmother aunt and friend. She welcomed all with open arms and an open heart. She truly loved everyone unconditionally and without judgments. She was a woman of strong faith and of Catholic religion. Nothing brought her more happiness then having her family together.

Viewing for the public will be held on Wednesday August 9th 2017 at 12:00 Noon. followed by mass at 1:30 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home. Burial will be immediately following mass at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilroy.
