Helen "Bette" Scarper, 89, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Gilroy.
Survived by her loving children Jim, Nancy and Steve; sister Mary Jane Green and sister-in-law Deloris Blake; brother-in-law Mike Pino of Salinas; nieces Sister Bobbi Green, Kelly Blake, Tamara Blake, Jeanette Erb, Karen Kruger, and Catherine Lewis; also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Leland; parents, James and Adelaide Blake; and brothers Joe, Norman, and Bill Blake.
Born and raised in Gilroy, California. Graduated from St. Mary Elementary School, Gilroy High School and Healds Business College. Lifetime member of St. Mary's Church and St. Mary's Catholic Ladies.
Viewing Monday, June 2, 2014 – 10:00 AM at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass follows at 1:30 PM at St. Mary's Church, Gilroy. Donations to St. Joseph's Family Center preferred.
