Harry Mendoza passed away January 5, 2010, with his family by his side. Harry was born October 25, 1934. Beloved husband of Barbara Mendoza for 42 years. Loving father of Lawrence (Lynette) Altamirano, Sam "Suitcase" (Irma) Altamirano, Lucretia (Mike) Santana and Karen (Tom) Martinez. Devoted grandfather of Christopher, Larissa, Anthony, Marcus, Cherise, Stefani, Matthew, Michael, Jelissa, Kayla and great-grandfather of Evan and Eric. Cherished son of the late Grace and Jesus Mendoza. Dear brother of Albert, Gloria, Raul, Ophelia, Eva and the late Louie, Manuel, Alex and Clara. Dear uncle of many neices and nephews.
He recently celebrated his 75th birthday with family and friends.
After retiring in 1994 from Western Refrigeration and Cold Storage in San Martin, CA Harry became known as "The Woodman". He enjoyed cutting and splitting wood. He also enjoyed scratching his lottery tickets and going to play the slots at the casinos.
Harry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a great friend to all. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and would do anything for them.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 P.M. Sat., Jan. 9, 2010, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:30 P.M. both at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th St., Gilroy, CA. Burial to follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
