Gregory Toscano was born in Harlingen, Texas on November 29, 1946 and was raised in Gilroy from a very young age.  Greg went to local schools and graduated from Gilroy High.  He passed away on February 9, 2021.

Greg was a veteran who was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1968, serving his country as a sharp shooter in Korea.   Greg attended San Jose State, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  One of his proudest accomplishments was serving his community as a San Jose firefighter.  In that capacity, he served the city of San Jose for over 28 years. It was no secret he felt great pride in putting on that fireman's uniform.

He was a wiz in the kitchen.  Greg like to spend the summers throwing barbecues and pool parties. He spent his Sundays watching football, especially the Raiders. He would also take friends and family out to watch the Oakland A's play at the Coliseum.  He loved to go cruising along the back roads of Gilroy with the top down in his yellow corvette, one of his prized possessions.  Always willing to help his friends or family, he was the type of person willing to go the extra mile.

Greg was a dedicated son, father, brother, and uncle.  He enjoyed being a father more than anything.

He was the son of his late father Julian and his late mother Guadalupe Toscano. He is survived by his son David, his granddaughter Zelda and two brothers and five sisters.
