Our beloved Gloria Eve Garcia moved on to be with her heavenly Father on September 14, 2022 in Gilroy, Ca. She was born in East Los Angeles on April 24, 1958 to parents Genevieve Padilla and Manual Gastellu, but grew up in Oxnard, Ca.

Gloria was married to husband Michael Garcia, who precedes her in passing. The couple met at a fundraiser in Ventura, Ca in the late 70's. They fell in love and married on September 5, 1981 they shared three amazing children Henry, Estrella and Susana. Life moved Gloria and her family all around, but most of their time was spent between San Jose and Los Angeles. She took many career paths such as a tax professional and travel agent, but her true joy was in building a life and home for her family.

Gloria had her own special way to make the people around her feel seen, embraced, and loved.  She reflected that love by beating you in a game of cards, cooking up a delicious meal or creating a personalized blanket or craft. Her most enjoyable times were spent surrounded by family, traveling, and rooting for her beloved Los Angeles Dodgers.

Gloria loved unconditionally, her open arms and home were there for all in need. This love of hers runneth over not only just for her immediate family, but she adored her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and all her bonus family as well. Throughout her life she made some very special best friends and was unquestionably the favorite sister to all her siblings. No matter the distance, Gloria undoubtedly was everyone's favorite cheerleader and steadfast support system. She could often be found cheering the loudest at graduations, dancing the hardest at weddings, listening the longest to someone in need. There was never a shortage of people walking through her door looking to share in a moment of her sunshine. Let us not forget that infectious laugh and feisty spirit!

In the wake of her departure, Gloria leaves behind her children Henry, Estrella, Susana and daughter-in-law Anna. She was blessed beyond measure to know and love her grandchildren Denee, Naima, Nakai, Maya and Nyla as well as her Great granddaughter Breanna. Along with her faith, it was her grandchildren who were her light and constant motivation during hardships, particularly during her difficult later years. She has left an imprint in all our hearts and a void that only she can fill, until we meet again.
