Obituary

After 89 wonderful years of life, heaven welcomed our beloved "Fritzie" home on August 3rd 2024. Gladys Ann Kuenne Howard, better known as Fritz to most, was born in Chicago, IL on September 29, 1934, but had called Gilroy home since 1999.

Fritz is survived by her 3 daughters: Sharon (Ron Reinartz), Kathleen (Tim Bilyk) and Bethann (Mark Holcomb), her nine grandchildren: Heath Howard, Sarah Reinartz (Alex Coleman), Steven Reinartz (Ashley Reinartz), Alexander Bilyk, Brock Howard Jr, Zackary Holcomb (Kai Holcomb), Riley Bilyk, Ella Howard, and Isabella Howard, her great granddaughter Margo Reinartz, her sister Sharlene (Robert Hatzl) and brother Jack Kuenne as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews and her many friends.  She was recently preceded in death by her beloved son Brock Alyn Howard.

The greatest love of her life was her family and she was very devoted to that love, not just her own family either but to anyone who needed a mother or grandmother.  She was a mom and gramma to multiple generations, her love transcended age. Whether you needed a warm hug, a bed to sleep in, a home-cooked meal, or simply someone to listen, she was always there. With her, you always felt like the most important person in the world.

A dedicated teacher for over 30 years, she was beloved by her students and touched so many of their lives. Many of her former students have remained in contact with her throughout the years, even up to her passing.

She wore many hats as a gramma - - caregiver, bible school teacher, tutor, cheerleader, and cab driver.  She would never miss a milestone, from birthdays, science fairs and recitals to sporting events, graduations, and everything in between.

Her deep faith and religious convictions were evident in every aspect of her life.  A lifelong catholic, she never wavered in her faith no matter the circumstances.   In times of uncertainty, she would reassure us by saying, "God has a plan." These words brought her comfort, peace and patience, and she devoted her life to instilling that same faith in her family. Now, those words continue to comfort and bring peace to each of us as we say "Until We See You Again".

She was an angel on earth and with her new wings, we know that she will be our ever-attentive guardian angel in heaven. God blessed all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted   Mathew 5:4
