IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Giovanni Nicholas
Sifuentes
November 10, 2009 – April 3, 2025
Giovanni Nicholas Sifuentes, 15, of Morgan Hill, California, passed away on April 3, 2025. Though his time with his family and friends was brief, his impact was immeasurable, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was the beloved son of Cande and Martin Sifuentes and a treasured brother to Jessica, Jazmin, and Jyzzellah.
Giovanni courageously battled osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer that began in his knee and metastasized to his lungs.
Despite the many challenges he faced, he met each day with incredible strength, hope, and an unwaveringly positive spirit. Though cancer may have taken his life, it could never dim his light. In the hearts of his family, he will always be remembered as a true warrior.
A freshman at Live Oak High School, Giovanni was known for his lively energy, sharp curiosity, and the lasting friendships he formed. He had a wide range of interests and passions that made him unmistakably Gio. He loved Coca‑Cola—especially peach Coke—and had a deep appreciation for music, admiring artists like Eminem, Lewis Capaldi, and Imagine Dragons. He had a passion for building LEGO sets, bringing his imagination to life one brick at a time. He was an avid sports fan and athlete, particularly fond of soccer, golf, and running. He loved watching San Jose Earthquakes games and cheered them on wholeheartedly—win or lose, he was always their biggest fan. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and watching his favorite YouTubers, Mr. Beast and Mark Rober.
Giovanni was a gamer, builder, and dreamer. Whether he was immersed in Roblox, Minecraft, or Fortnite with family and friends, or working alongside his dad on house projects, he found joy in creating and problem-solving. From a young age, he displayed a vivid imagination, turning cardboard boxes into elaborate designs and envisioned a future as a renowned architect. He dreamed of building a bright life alongside his twin sister, full of success and adventure. He and his twin sister did everything together—whether they were playing outside, riding bikes, or sharing their favorite games. He dreamed of building a game room in the backyard—a special place where he could laugh and play with his beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nature held a special place in Giovanni's heart. He loved being outdoors—gardening with his mom, relaxing in the hammock of her "enchanted garden," hiking, or capturing sunsets through his camera lens. These peaceful moments reflected the gentle, reflective side of his beautiful soul. He also loved going on road trips—especially visits to Disneyland, fun beach days, and adventures in San Francisco.
Giovanni was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Ali; his grandfather, Abuelito; Kiwi, his sister's parrot whom he adored; and Lola, the family's sweet and faithful dog. He is survived by his precious dog, Austin, who shared his spirited personality—full of energy, yet gentle and cuddly at heart. Gio requested to be buried with a piece of graph paper, a bottle of Mexican Coke, a piece of his favorite blanket from his hospital stay, and his video game controller—small treasures that reflected the heart of who he was and the things he loved most. His final resting place will be beside his cherished Ali, where they will be reunited for all eternity.
Those who knew Giovanni will forever remember his sharp wit, boundless kindness, and a laugh that could brighten even the darkest days. Though his time with us was far too short, the joy, love, and light he shared will remain with us always. Giovanni's legacy lives on in every heart he touched—and in every sunset, every song, every moment of quiet wonder in the world he loved so deeply.
