My sweet wife Gilda Santiago-Wein passed away in Morgan Hill on Friday, November 20, at the age of 64. She was born on October 9, 1951, in the province of Iloilo in the Philippines to Enrique and Virginia Calunsod. Gilda married in the Philippines and has one son, Eric John Santiago, who still lives in Iloilo.
Gilda moved to the United States and worked as a caregiver and was excited to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Gilda married Marvin A. Wein on January 26, 2007. She proudly became a citizen of the United States on August 9, 2013. Gilda bravely battled cancer for 16 months, but was blessed to be introduced to a women's bible study group through a friend she made during her treatment.

Gilda loved gardening and grew beautiful plants and flowers and was known for her beautiful orchids. Gilda was a gentle, sweet person who would help anyone needing assistance. She was also a strong Christian woman who loved God. Gilda had a beautiful smile and will greatly be missed by everyone who knew her.

Gilda is survived by her husband Marvin, her son Eric, and numerous family members in the United States and the Philippines.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm at South Valley Community Church, located at 8095 Kelton Dr., Gilroy, CA. Gilda's final resting place will be in Iloilo.
