Gilda Mercedes Garcia passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on December 5, 2017. She was born in Salinas, CA to Teresa Nunez and Louie Garcia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She was 64 years old. Gilda was also known as "Gigi" to friends and family. She had an adventurous spirit living in many different places always reinventing her life with new friendships. Throughout, she had meaningful relationships including marriage.

For hobbies she enjoyed cooking, music, movies, arts & crafts, pet dogs, biking, marksmanship, and using technology. Gilda began her career in computer programming and pursued her passion for learning more in this field. She went on to work at colleges and hospitals using her technological education as an IT Specialist.

Gilda is survived by mother, sisters, daughter, brother-in-law, son-in-law, grandsons, granddaughter, granddaughter-in-law, grandson-in-law and great grand children.
