Gilberto Augusto De Faria, 78, of Gilroy, CA passed away on November 27, 2017 at his home in Gilroy, CA.

He was born on August 13, 1939 in Horta Azores Islands of Portugal to Francisco De Faria and Maria Silviera De Faria. He was the youngest of 9 Siblings. Gilberto grew up in the Azores and moved to the United States in 1969 where he raised his family in San Jose, California.

Gilberto was a very hard worker. He worked as a gardener/landscaper for 35 years. Gilberto retired at the age of 62.

Gilberto was preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings and 1 Great-Grandchild.

Gilberto was a funny and loving man that enjoyed spending his time with his family, fishing and the beach. Gilberto enjoyed his last 9 years with his four-legged bestfriend, His dog, Shoeshine. Gilberto is survived by his 3 daughters Filomena (John) Cook, Lucy (Steve) Cook and Nancy De Faria, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 6 siblings.

A memorial service will be held at a future date and time to be determined and information will be made available at that time to his immediate family. Gilberto chose to be cremated, therefore, visitation will not be held.
