Geraldine "Geri," 84, passed away on the morning of June 7, 2015.

She was a loving daughter of Jess Butler and Ruby Williams. Geri had three other siblings, Charles Butler, Jessie Hawkins, and Leo Butler. Born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Geri and her family moved to Gilroy when she was 14 years old. Among her various accomplishments, she attended Morgan Hill High School as well as established a local convenience store in Gilroy for over 30 years. In her later years, she enjoyed working as a greeter at WalMart.

Geri is survived by her three independent boys, Ron Powell, Michael Powell, and David Rutjes. She will be missed by her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Geri loved to be with her family and friends, enjoyed gardening, and taking care of her turtles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015, 4:00 pm, at Habing Family Funeral Home. Committal Service will follow at 6:00 pm at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.

In memory of Geri and her love of flowers, the family would welcome that attendees wear cheerful colors to the service.
