Gerald "Jake" DeHaeseleer, 93, of Morgan Hill, CA, peacefully passed away on September 9, 2023. Born and raised in Illinois, after graduating college, Jake served in the US Navy for 3 years during the Korean War. He took great pride in his military associations.
Jake had a successful 37-year career at General Electric. It was with General Electric that the family moved to Italy on overseas assignment. Jake enjoyed traveling and many wondrous vacations were taken while living abroad.
In his free time, Jake enjoyed exercise, gardening, and once retired, tending to his 4-acre vineyard. These hobbies brought him great joy.
His family meant the world to him. He is survived by his children Kevin (Sandra), Steve (Trang), Ann, and the youngest, James (Christina). Proud grandfather of 7, Alexa, Christine, Victoria, Michael, Jenna, Eric, and Sean.
Preceded in death by his devoted wife Wilda. They shared a deep love and created cherished memories together.
A funeral service to honor Jake's life will be held at St. Catherine Church on Thursday, September 21 at 10:00 am. The address is 17400 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the USO or YMCA Youth Sports of Silicon Valley, organizations that were close to Jake's heart.
Jake DeHaeseleer will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished.
