IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail Ellen
Carr
March 24, 1942 – February 1, 2025
Gail Ellen Carr, born on March 24, 1942, peacefully passed away in Paso Robles, CA surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of Norman B. Goodrich and Marian Goodrich of Gilroy, CA.
Gail met the love of her life, John Carr, in Gilroy, California, and they married on July 24, 1963. Together, they built a wonderful life in Salinas, CA where they enjoyed over 53 years in the same home. John served as a police officer in Salinas while Gail dedicated her career to being a passionate kindergarten teacher for the Santa Rita School District in Salinas. Their family grew to include two sons, Jason and Jeff, who became the pride and joy of their lives. She retired from the Santa Rita School District in 2003 so that she could spend time with her grandchildren.
Known for her radiant smile and contagious sense of humor, Gail had a unique ability to brighten any room she entered. An avid reader, she particularly loved the works of Catherine Coulter, and she enjoyed celebrating special moments with a glass of her favorite Andre Brut Champagne. Gail was truly an amazing woman, lovingly guiding John and their family throughout their lives together.
Gail was preceded in death by her beloved parents Norman and Marian Goodrich, her husband John F. Carr, and siblings Neil Goodrich and Robert Goodrich. Gail's legacy carries on through her sons Jeff and Jason Carr, her daughter-in-law Audra Carr, and her four grandchildren Brady Dwight Carr, Jordan Faith Carr, Logan Thomas Carr, and Vivienne June Carr.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held on February 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Habing's Funeral Home in Gilroy, followed by a gravesite ceremony and reception at the Elk's Lodge. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her
