Fred Schulze, resident of San Martin.
Fred Schulze passed away peacefully on August 8th at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Renate, son Frank, daughter Diane, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
At age 11, he played the accordion in his hometown of Uelzen, Germany and at the age of 17 he spent 3 years attending The City of Hamburg State Conservatory of Music.
In 1951 Fred immigrated to Canada. There, he played trumpet and accordion in various nightclubs. From 1956 – 1962 he played in The Canadian Army Band.
In 1962, Fred immigrated to the USA and played music nights and weekends in dance clubs, all while holding a fulltime job as an engineer.
In 1972 he started a firm with 2 partners designing semi-conductor manufacturing equipment which was very successful. The proceeds from the business enabled him and his wife Renate to invest in real estate.
In 1995 he played saxophone with The Morgan Hill Wind Symphony and played keyboard for The Morgan Hill Senior Center for 20 years.
Fred always had words of wisdom and a catchy tune to share.
He will be greatly missed.
Private services have been held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
