Frank Joseph La Corte, Sr. passed away peacefully just days after celebrating his 90 ^th birthday. Frank's parents immigrated to America from Baghadia Sicily and settled in San Jose where he was born.

As a prune farmer, Frank and his wife Mary, moved to Gilroy in 1958 to raise their two sons Frank Jr. and Louis. He later became Gilroy's best-known landscaper.

Frank had a passion for polka dancing and loved Italian music. He was an avid bowler, bowling three "300's". He enjoyed hard work and took pride in doing anything with his hands. Frank was an Army veteran serving during World War II. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his sons and grandchildren. You could always see him tending to his garden and pruning everyone's trees.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Mary of 67 years, and his sons Frank La Corte Jr. (Karen) and Louis La Corte. His grandchildren include Vincent La Corte (Ana), Vanessa Courneen (Casey), Sabrina La Corte and Danny La Corte. Also, his great grandchildren are Giovanni and Francesca La Corte, and Fiona and Sloane Courneen. Also survived by his sister Lillian Cefalu (Sam) of San Jose  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Santo and Minnie La Corte, brothers and sisters Mary Sorci, Sara D'Amico, Jack La Corte, Rose Cefalu, Dorothy Cefalu, Sam La Corte, Katherine Alexander, and Joe La Corte.

Known as "Nano" his family and friends were everything to him. He enjoyed saying that he was married for 67 years without an argument!

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday October 23, 2017 at St. Mary Church in Gilroy at 11:00 am.

A Visitation will also be held at Habing Family Funeral Home from 8:00 am to 10:30 am prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.   Reception to follow.
