Francisco Zaldivar entered into his eternal rest and into the hands of God on March 16, 2021 after a short illness.  He was born on October 4, 1928 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico where he spent the majority of his childhood. As a young adult, he worked at the Banco Nacional in Mexico City where he worked in many positions, including management.  It was during this same period that he met the love of his life, Rosa, marrying her in February of 1954.  They just celebrated their 67th year together.

In 1956, they decided to start a new life in Gilroy, where they began their family which included 7 children and includes 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  They were devoted to their spirituality and raised their family in the St. Mary Catholic Community.

Francisco worked for many years in local industries, including Gilroy Foods where he spent over 25 years working many positions, including as a team lead.  He was also a proud Teamster member.

Francisco was preceded in death by his children Olga (2010) and Danny (2012) and is survived by his daughters, Aida Zaldivar-Perez (Lyle, deceased), Irma Zaldivar-Altamirano (Sam), and sons Frank (Tracey), Raul, and Javier (Alma).

A rosary will be held at 7pm at St. Mary Parish on Friday, March 26th, and his mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 27th at 12pm.  COVID-19 restrictions are enforced.
