Filiberto Elias Sr., 78, of Gilroy, California, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. After battling multiple cancer diagnoses with great strength and determination, Filiberto fought bravely to stay with his family as long as possible.

Filiberto was born on August 21, 1946, in Chihuahua Juarez, Mexico, to Guadalupe and Diego Elias. He was the fourth of eleven children. He spent much of his early life in New Mexico before traveling to Arizona and eventually settling in Gilroy, California, where he built his life. It was here that he found the love of his life, Geneva, with whom he shared a blended family filled with love and joy.

The highlight of Filiberto's life was the births of his children and the many grandchildren who brought endless happiness and laughter into his world. He was passionate about food, gardening, and cultivating beautiful crops and flowers. His days were often spent tending to his roses and garden, finding peace and joy in these simple pleasures. Visits from his grandchildren filled his heart with joy. He loved watching the 49er games win or lose he was always rooting for his team.

Filiberto is survived by his beloved wife, Geneva, and his children Nancy Ramirez (Cassie), Donna Rodriguez (Damian), Larry Lucero (Vero), David Elias Amaya (Cindy) stepson Aaron Muro and his baby girl Melissa Elias (Matt). He is also survived by his cherished bonus children (friends of his kids) Joey (Stacy) and Vanessa Solorio, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his Brothers and sisters, Many nieces and nephews and his favorite niece Cindy Santos. He is also survived by his Brother in Law Jim Stapleton (the dispatch) and Sister in law Joline Arevalo.He was blessed with many Grandchildren and loved them all so very much. He took pride as the numbers grew and he was a very proud Papa to Doris Rodriguez (Maggie) , Benji and Damian Rodriguez, Navaih , Alyssa , Kiyah , Nikkolas, Landon and Mayson , Ariana Loy, Mercedes, Jayden, Aileen, Jayceden, Luke and Mikah Amaya, Justice and Lizzy Muro.

Filiberto was preceded in death by his two sons, Filiberto Elias JR and Kenneth Elias, and his parents, Guadalupe and Diego Elias. Filiberto's final resting place will be next to his sons, where he will be reunited with them for all eternity.

Filiberto will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for his family, his devotion to his passions, and his unwavering strength will never be forgotten. May his memory continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all who knew him. He was a simple man with a huge heart who will always be loved and remembered forever.
