Fidel Vargas

Fidel Vargas, beloved husband, dog father, brother, son in law, brother in law, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Sep 14, 2026.

Fidel was born on February 24, 1976. He was born and raised in Gilroy.

He started working at a young age in the fields of Gilroy and San Martin. He always had a strong work ethic. He worked at various outlet stores and eventually worked the ranks to Store Manager, Area Manager and District Manager. He traveled often for work in his younger days and enjoyed being a part of store openings.

While working for Haggar Clothing Company, he met his future and favorite wife, Lenore. They dated for way too long and finally married on June 11, 2011. He agreed to marry at San Juan Oaks so he could finagle a round of golf.

He enjoyed his time out on the golf course and spent countless hours perfecting his love of the game. He would humbly say that he was “better than most” when asked about what type of player he was. He was an avid Oakland A’s, Golden State Warriors, and Raiders fan. He is fondly remembered wearing hats supporting his teams and tshirts with funny or sarcastic sayings.

Fidel had big goals in life, and he worked hard to accomplish them. Among his proudest achievements were owning his own home, getting his Chevy Silverado, and owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. These accomplishments represented more than just material possessions—they were milestones that showed his hard work, determination, and dedication to building the life he wanted.

When not on the golf course Fidel was a home body. In 2017, he and Lenore adopted their little boy, Pinot who was Fidel’s baby boy. Pinot was Lenore’s birthday gift, but he and Pinot had a very special bond. He was there for Fidel when his sugar was low or high, waking him up to take medicine. He always snuggled Fidel during his hours long dialysis treatments at home. Hope you and Pinot Boy are taking long walks and getting lots of snuggles together.

Fidel’s faith was an important part of who he was. His love for God gave him strength, comfort, and guidance throughout his life, and it remained a source of peace to him and to those who loved him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife, Big Boy Niko,family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we find comfort in knowing that Fidel’s love and memory will remain with us always.

May he rest in the loving arms of God, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Fidel. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
