Esperanza Frausto Perales, age 74, of Gilroy passed away on September 11, 2020 after battling a lengthy illness. She was strong and fought a good fight. We find solace knowing she is now at rest and no longer suffering.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ramon Perales, her children John Perales Sr. (Leighan), Hermila Perales, her brother Palemon Frausto and sister Elvira Frausto.

She was very proud of her grandchildren John Jr., Ashleigh and Lauren Perales. She loved seeing them and keeping up with all they are involved in, their activities and their schooling.

Esperanza was born in Jalisco Mexico and immigrated to the United States in 1973. She and her husband settled in Gilroy and decided to make their home here. She loved cooking and gardening and showed her love by caring for her loved ones. Never could you visit without being offered a hearty meal and leave with a full belly. She enjoyed gardening and spent time caring for her plants, flowers, and fruit trees. Her knowledge of plants was extensive and she was quick to offer a tincture that would help you feel better.

Esperanza worked for Christopher Ranch and after retiring she pursued her love of working with children by serving as a foster parent, providing daycare services and working with school age children.

Her faith was very important to her and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. In all that she did, she always put the will of God first and it was always, "Si Dios quiere."

Esperanza cared deeply for her husband, brothers, sister, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loved ones. For her, family was who you loved and thus many friends and neighbors became just that – family. She will be dearly missed.

There will be a private mass in her honor at St. Mary Catholic Church followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Gilroy. Please contact the family in regards to day and times.
