On April 14, 2011 Ernest Guerra, Jr. joined his beloved daughter Brandi Michele Guerra and mother Amelia (Duffy) Guerra in heaven to celebrate their birthdays. Born in Carrizo Springs TX on June 3, 1943 he moved with his family to California and attended Sacred Heart School and Campbell High School. He earned his AS degree in Administration of Justice at West Valley College and served as a Deputy in the Santa Clara County Sheriff's office for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary Roensch Guerra, son Christopher Guerra, grandson Chason Guerra-Martinez as well as the brothers and sisters he loved: Gloria Sul, Joe, David, Nellie McConnell, Sylvia Cole, Johnny, Patsy Neumann and Betty Guerra, his uncles Art and Phil Duffy and dear friend Juan Vargas. He was predeceased by his father Ernesto Guerra.
Ernie loved his family, friends, work and his life on the ranch with all his animals, especially his dog Quigley. He will be missed by those who loved him but we take comfort knowing he will have eternal happiness riding with the angels on his horse Romeo.
Visitation will be at the Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th Street, Gilroy on Monday, April 18 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 19 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 325 Willow Street, San Jose at 10:30 am followed by internment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Ernie's memory.
