Born to Quince and Berta Wash, on July 27, 1946 in Eastabuchie, Mississippi. Ella Mae's life's journey began as the sixth child of thirteen brothers and sisters. As a young woman she married Alfred Glenn and to this union her only child, Alfreda Marie Glenn was born.
Ella Mae moved to California in 1992 where she began her life's journey as a Certified Nurse Assistant. After retirement, Ella Mae served as Chaplin for the VFW Ladies Axillary, Chapter 6309, she spent time working in her garden, and took pride in caring for the plants and flowers at Bethany church. In her leisure she loved playing bingo, reading, watching her favorite western show, and most all; loving and spending time with her grand-children and great-grandchild Couture!
Ella was truly blessed and departed this life on July 30, 2015 when the Lord saw mercy and took her home in her sleep. She was preceded in death by her loving father, mother, daughter, four brothers; Quince Jr., Roy, Joe, Earnest, and sister, Elizabeth. She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers and sisters; Charles, Catherine, Cora, and Clarence of Hattieburg, Mississippi. John and William of Dallas, Texas. Her granddaughters; Startela Wright, and Monique Hollis, great-granddaughter, Couture Garrett, son-in-law, Eric Wright of Gilroy, CA, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Ella Mae will be forever remembered for her huge heart and Tasty Pecan Pies! Most of all she loved and adored her family and friends. We all know there was absolutely nothing she would not do for family.
Funeral Services Thursday, August 6, 2015 – 1:00 PM at the Gilroy Bethany Church, 7449 Eigleberry Street. Viewing will begin at 12:00 noon at the Church.
