Elida "Ellie" De Santiago passed away surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter of Hector and Maria De Santiago. Loving sister of Hector Daniel, Adrian Enrique, Claudia, Stephanie and Xavier De Santiago. Cherished granddaughter of Constansio and Irene De Santiago. She was loved by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Preceded in death by her loving grandparents Roman and Consuelo Silva.


She was diagnosed in 2009 with ALL Leukemia . She was not afraid to try any cure. She was so brave and held onto life making all her own decisions until she took her final breath.

Some of her favorite things to do were watching the sunsets at the beach, taking pictures and being in nature settings.

She worked with children as an Instructional Aide at Morgan Hill School District. Loving children as she did she spoke often on adopting children that needed a home and lots of love. She was very independent, bright and smart. She was pure sunshine to her family and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 100 First Street, Gilroy followed by burial.
