IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen Marie
Brothers
May 8, 1943 – April 20, 2017
Eileen Brothers passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017 surrounded by her family, friends and pets.
Eileen was a loving and generous woman who made everyone feel welcome. She grew up in a large family, the eldest daughter of seven children and lived most of her life in California.
After graduating high school Eileen attended beauty school and worked as a hairdresser for several years. During this time she meet her husband Daniel while he was stationed in Hawaii with the Navy and she was on vacation with a friend. They soon married and moved to San Jose to start their family.
She eventually left hairdressing to be a full-time homemaker. She raised three children, Donald, Dina, Danyelle in addition to her grandson Andrew.
In 1977 she and her family moved to Gilroy and became involved in the PTA at the local elementary school, if fact many people in Gilroy still remember her as the yard duty. In her free time she loved to sew. Her daughters and some of their friends had the best prom dresses. It was not unusual to find her at her sewing machine making dance costumes, bathing suits or wedding dresses.
Her house was always filled with people. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and her house was always full of people. If you needed a place to stay, her door was open. If you needed a hot meal there was a place at her table and if you just wanted to go swimming she probably had a swimsuit your could borrow.
Her kindness and generosity was not limited to humans. She was known to take in stray dogs and cats without batting an eye, it's as if they knew they'd be taken care of if they could find her. Eileen was loved by so many and will be missed but will always be in our hearts.
