EDWARD JAMES THORNE, 95 passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 after a brief respiratory illness.
Husband of the late Lois Jeanne "Pat" Howarth Thorne. Beloved father of Debra Rose(Jack) Barry of Gilroy, Jim (Joan) Thorne of Bedford, TX, Joe(Jolene) Thorne of Cedar Falls, IA and Erika(Liz) Thorne of Minneapolis, MN. Loving grandfather of John, Hart, Gil, Brigid and Michael. Great-grandfather of Travis, Daniel, Angel, Nate, Nina, Jessi, Cali, Harry, Maren and one expected in May. Brother of Bob Thorne of Florida. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA.
Veteran of World War II, College Professor, Musician, Builder, and artist who will be missed by all who knew him.
Vigil Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 – 5:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Service Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 – 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, Gilroy.
Family would appreciate donations to the Gavilan College Scholarship Fund in his memory.
