Dorothy Anne Law passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on January 1, 2020 after a short illness at the age of 84.  She was born in Yonkers, New York, on March 31, 1935.  She graduated from Gorton High in 1953 and from business school two years later.  She lived in Yonkers until 1965.  She and her husband, Jim, were happily married for 63 years and have resided in Gilroy since 1976.

Dotty is survived by her husband Jim, son James H. Law of Santa Cruz, CA, daughter Cindy Alves (Frank) of Gilroy, CA, son Bruce Law of Gilroy, CA, son Gregg Law (Jennifer) of Lincoln, CA, granddaughter Erica Manning-Law, grandson Michael Law, granddaughter Marie Law, granddaughter Kaitlin Law, granddaughter Hayley Law and great granddaughter Violet Gray.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.  Dotty will be deeply missed by her extended family and numerous friends.

She worked for Gilroy Unified as an instructional aide for many years at Brownell and South Valley Junior High Schools until her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always ready to go out to eat.  She and Jim enjoyed traveling across the United States and the United Kingdom.  Dotty was known as a genuinely kind-hearted, jovial person who would start a conversation with any and every one, never failing to offer them something to eat or a cup of tea.

There will be a private celebration of Dotty's life.  In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate any donations be made to the American Heart Association.
