Donald Charles Thome peacefully passed away on February 26th in Elk Grove, Ca with his longtime companion, Sally Bunce, at his side. Donald was the eldest son of Donald Sheryl Thome and Bertha Marie Gotterba. A longtime resident of Gilroy, Ca he was involved in Boy Scouts as a youth where he earned the Eagle Scout Award; one of few South County Scouts to receive the badge per Gilroy Dispatch article of the late 1950s. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force. During his service he met his late wife, Gwendolyn Ann Ingraham. They cherished 46 years of marriage, living in England, Gilroy, and Elk Grove. After her passing in 2007, Donald met his longtime companion, Sally Bunce. Together they were able to travel often and take many cruises. Donald is survived by his companion: Sally Bunce; brothers: Gerald Thome, and Clifford( Carol) Thome ; his children: Daryl (Kathryn) Thome, Valerie Sanchez, and Regina Thome; his grandchildren: Victoria, Alexandra, and Franchesca Sanchez, Nicholas Thome; and his great-grandson: Kylo Nguyen. He is reunited in passing with his wife: Gwendolyn Thome, and his parents: Donald and Bertha.
