Born 5/4/1936 in Phoenix Arizona to Luisa M. Portello and Toribio Vicente Portello. She was raised by her grandmother Francisca Duran. Dolores passed away peacefully at home on 5/2/2023 in Gilroy, California. She was 87 years old.

Dolores lived in Arizona until the age of 12. She then moved to Gonzales, California. She married and moved to Gilroy, California and had 6 children. Dolores worked 40 years at Gilroy Foods. She was a very hard and dedicated worker. Dolores retired with perfect attendance and her employee number was retired with her as well.

Dolores enjoyed home projects, building and fabricating. She loved visiting Arizona to see her sons and grandchildren. Caring for animals brought joy to her heart. Dolores built a large bird sanctuary. She also bottle fed her adopted kitten "Kitty Paw" that was her companion for 17 years. You could find her every Sunday at the Salvation Army Church joyfully playing her tambourine.

Dolores was preceded in death by her son Andy Acosta, daughter Adel Acosta and her three sisters. She has many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Dolores is survived by Arthur Acosta of Lemoore, Alfred Acosta of Las Vegas, Annie Padron (Fil) of Gilroy, Anthony Acosta of Glendale, Arizona. She also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am, May 12th 2023 at Habing Family Funeral Home, burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
