Denise Viereck Garibaldi, age 56, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on October 24, 2019.

Denise was born to Bob and Jani Viereck on May 25, 1963 in Burbank, California. She soon became the older sister to five siblings (Patti, Julie, Mary, Tommy and Carl). She attended the following schools: Santa Clarita Elementary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Saugus High ('81). She continued her education at College of the Canyons before receiving a Public Relations degree at San Jose State University.

One of Denise's favorite jobs was working at Universal Studios Credit Union where she associated with studio luminaries and employees. After graduating from college, Denise worked in public relations/corporate communications for various companies in the tech industry in the Silicon Valley. She also founded her own successful PR business specializing in corporate public relations and communications.

She met her husband, Lawrence, in 1991 while they both were attending SJSU. He proposed to her on a camping trip in Yosemite in 1996 and they were married in 1998. They have two wonderful children, Chase and Cianna.

Denise was an active member and employee/colleague of St. Mary's Church and School in Gilroy. She took great pleasure in the love and fellowship of many friends in this community. She also enjoyed camping, skiing, volleyball, shopping (always having the perfect accessories for every occasion), dancing, and her book club. Some of her favorite family activities were their Christmas traditions, vacations to Disneyland, and watching her kids' sporting activities.

Denise passed away, surrounded by her beloved family, on October 24, 2019, after a 10-month battle with uterine cancer. We know she is resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord.

Vigil will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Church.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church.
