Our beloved Dad aka "Papa Dave", David Dale Mingus, was called home on January 20th, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. "May there be comfort in knowing someone special will never be forgotten"-Julie Hebert

Dave was born in Charleston, Illinois on December 20th, 1956, to Ron and Janet Mingus.  In 1962, the family decided to head west to California and settled in Gilroy where they would grow their family. Dave established strong roots in town where he would graduate from local schools and work for local companies. He found his true joy working for Lowe's, where he would be surrounded by the 2 things he loved most, people and tools. Papa was known to "tinker" around a garage and garden with the best of them. He loved camping, fishing, BBQs, the 49ers, and spending time with his 6 grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Janet, sister Darla, and brother-in-law Daniel. He is survived by son Brandon (wife Genea), daughter Brandy (husband Dave), brother Jimmy and his 6 grandchildren, Jaden, Sean, Kylen, Shaylen, Brooklen, and Lily.

Thank you to the many caretakers, friends, and family who helped Papa Dave over the years. And to the Lowe's family, you held a special place in his heart.
