David "Dave" Ray Hogue 83, of Gilroy California, passed away in his home November 14th. Dave was born July 16, 1937 and raised in Gilroy California. Dave loved riding horses and bikes on Mt. Madonna in his youth and was a daredevil of sorts throughout his life. Dave skydived, loved fast cars, and spent many years riding motorcycles, dirt bikes, dune buggies and traveling. Dave learned to fly a plane in his later years and spoke of this fondly.

Dave enlisted in the Navy August 16, 1954 and spent two years on the U.S.S. Oriskany aircraft carrier as an airman. Dave was honorably discharged April 1, 1959. Dave married the love of his life Faye Helene Blasdell in 1958 shortly after she won the Miss Gilroy pageant. It was love at first sight for him. They eloped to be married January 31, 1959 in Las Vegas Nevada. They had four children, starting with Helena Berardi of Paso Robles, Barrett "Barry" Hogue of Paso Robles, Darla Martin of Fairfield and Todd Hogue of Arroyo Grande. Dave had 10 much-loved grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Dave was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Helene Blasdell the mother of his children, his parents Alice and Leonard Hogue, his sister Betty Little and his brothers Ken and
Carroll Hogue, as well as his grandson, Mikhail David Nikolov.

Dave lived life on his own terms. He was a unique individual with a very loving heart. Dave had a special way of making you feel comfortable within the first few minutes of meeting. When asked what he thought most about in his life he said, "The best thing that ever happened to me was meeting Faye and having my four wonderful children." Dave will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

Dave was laid to rest along with his loving wife on December 11, 2020 in the Hogue family burial site at Gavlin Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy, California.
