December 7, 1953 – August 9, 2022
Daniel A Peña lost his battle with cancer at the age of 68. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 9, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Esther Pena, his daughter Monica Pena and significant other Jesse Lara of Los Banos, sons Daniel Jr. with husband Brian Gasper of Dublin, Vincent Pena with fiancé Adrian Torres of San Jose and Marcus Pena with wife Kim of Gilroy. He also leaves behind his 8 Grandchildren Izaiha Valencia, Jonathon and Joshua Cruz, Ciera and Aiden Peña-Gasper, Mason, Leilani and Phoenix Pena. As well as his Sisters Sylvia Pena and Bertha Pena, brother's J.R. Pena and Alex Pena. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his brothers Jose Pena, Smiley Pena and sister Isabel Lopez
All his family and friends loved Daniel, also known as Granpda-D, dad, and daddy. Daniel had a very outgoing personality. He was proud of his family and cherished any moment to talk about his kids and grandkids, as he was very proud of all their accomplishments in their careers, sports, and school. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and playing horseshoe's, most of all he enjoyed going out and riding his Harley Davidson with his wife and enjoying their time together. He was an avid sports fan of the Raiders and supported them no matter win or lose or what city they were in. He also loved his SF Giants.
Celebration of life will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home on Thursday August 18, 2022. Viewing from 2-5 pm, military service at 4 pm. Following will be a reception at the VFW Hall in Gilroy, 74 W Sixth St from 5-9 pm.
