Dan Hager of Gilroy passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2026 at age 83.
Dan had a tender heart, an exceptional work ethic, a great sense of humor, and a love of building things. He loved his family and animals more than anything. He graduated from Gilroy High School in 1960 and had a long career as a Purchasing Manager at both Gilroy Foods and Monterey Mushrooms. He was an exceptional carpenter who built many beautiful pieces of furniture, and he also enjoyed activities like bowling and archery with his son-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen Hager; his daughter, Michelle Hager; and his son-in-law, Nick Hernandez. He is also survived by his two brothers, Steve and Scott Hager, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Hager and Ann Tingley, and many other loved ones. At his request, there will be no services. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
