IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Ruiz
Garcia
July 20, 1955 – July 10, 2022
Daniel "Danny" Garcia, 66, passed away, suddenly on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
It is with very heavy hearts that we will no longer get to see that bright and shining smile of the best husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, Nino, friend, and neighbor. Daniel Ruiz Garcia "AKA" Danny, Papa Danny, Danny G., Danny Boy, Dan the Man and DRGHDRMMF.
You left us way to soon, we had so many more memories to make. We find comfort in knowing that just because you are not here on earth, you will always be with us no matter where we are, and we can smile knowing that we will all be together again one day…. so, it's not goodbye as Papa Danny would say its Michelle you ready and see ya later alligator after while crocodile.
Danny was born and raised in Gilroy on Gurries Drive and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Gilroy High School. He worked for Nob Hill Foods for over 35 years and always admired Michael Bonfante for giving him that first opportunity as a bagger when he was only 15 years old. After he retired which didn't last very long because as he would say its "boring," so he went to work for Milgard Windows for another 10 years before retiring again. But still just didn't like being home because everyone else was still working, so he got a part time job with Ewing Irrigation to pass his time, he finally was ready to retire in 2020 and so he did and was enjoying every minute spending time with his three precious granddaughters. They loved their Papa Danny so much, he always had them laughing and making silly times so much fun together.
Whether they were going to the park, the beach or to their softball games or just hanging out at the house it was always a memorable event that is for sure with Papa Danny. We shared many family adventures together and those will be memories that will live on forever in our hearts. He was an avid 49er, Giants and Warriors fan and rarely missed a game. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with family and friends and spending time with his brothers just hanging out on Gurries Drive for a "Muskrat BBQ" and a cold beer. Danny was so well known and liked by so many, there wasn't a place that we could go whether it be in town or out of state, that he didn't run into someone that he knew. He made new friends wherever he went, he just had that kind of good karma and spunky personality that made him fun to be around.
Danny is survived by his loving wife Michelle, his one and only "TaTa" daughter Deanna and favorite son in law, David Arias, his precious granddaughters, Daniella, Davina, and Darla Jae (D.J.), The Garcia brothers, Herman, Benny, Jesse (Bear) and (A-#1) Armando and sister-in-law Debbie Garcia and his adoring sister (Yogi) Yolanda and (Compa) Gary Velasco. His brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tony and Pam Ivelich and mother-in-law Carol Paredes. His brother in laws David and Jim Mingus. and last but not least his spoiled little sidekick and fur baby "Toby" the tobster, who will miss his daily walk in the park and hamburger from McDonald's.
Preceded in death by his parents Herman and Mary Garcia, his first wife Darla and in laws Ron and Janet Mingus.
