Dan Corley passed away in his home in Gilroy on May 12, 2021, from brain cancer. He was 71 years old.

He was born at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, January 3, 1950.  He was a graduate of Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, and later, attended San Jose State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Science.

He was hired by Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department on March 8, 1976, where he served in various departments, ultimately retiring in 2003 from the Department of Corrections after 27 years of service.

Dan met and married Kathy Orlob at Willow Glen Alliance church on Easter Sunday in 1979 in San Jose, and they were married close to one year later on April 12, 1980.  As a Christian, Dan led by example and consistently led his family to services at South Valley Community Church in Gilroy.

A committed husband and father; he was especially proud of being a dad to Matthew and Rebecca, their children, and loved taking his family camping each summer to Pinecrest Lake, and also visiting many State and National Parks.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy, and their two children, Matthew and Rebecca Corley, sister Carol Pollard of El Cajon, Ca., and Jerry Corley of Alpine, Ca., and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Lee Edison Corley and Dorothy Mae Corley of El Cajon.

A memorial service is planned for June 3, 10:30 am, at the Gavilan Hills Memorial Cemetery in Gilroy.
