Obituary

Coral Jean Kannely, born in Gilroy on April 30, 1929 passed away after a short illness on February 24, 2017.

Jean was the daughter of Matthew and Amy(Willson) Kannely, sister of Elizabeth (Bisi), Warren, Richard, Walter, David, Clifford, all deceased. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Kannely of Watsonville and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was a fourth generation Gilroyan. Her grandfather was Fred Willson who settled in Gilroy in 1853. And her Great Grandfather Matthew Kannely, from Tipperary Ireland also settled here in the 1850's.

Jean lived her whole life in Gilroy except for a short time during WWII when her dad died and both Warren and Walter were killed serving the country in the Army. They sold their home and moved to Morgan Hill for several years. Jean graduated from Live Oak High School in June 1952. After graduation she and her mother moved back to Gilroy.  She lived with her mother, until her mother passed away.  She was loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her sweet nature and her love for family. We were very blessed to have her in our family.
