Obituary

Chuck Giordanengo, 70, went to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by love, on Friday, November 16, 2018.

Chuck was born on Friday, July 16, 1948 in San Francisco, California, to the late Zita and Peter Giordanengo.  He was the youngest of the 3 siblings.  On July 18, 1970, he married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Giordanengo and this union blessed them with two sons, Sam and Kevin.

Chuck was employed by L-3 Communications / Randtron Systems for 38 years, retiring in 2010 as a Quality Assurance Engineer. He worked part-time as a Quality Engineer at TE Connectivity until 2017.

An avid waterfowl hunter, Chuck loved hunting with his sons, grandchildren and friends.  In 1988, he became certified as a Hunter Education Instructor.  He started his own class at Coyote Valley Sporting Clays in Morgan Hill, California.  During his 30+ years as an instructor, he was given the title of Master Instructor, and was honored as Instructor of the year, and held the position as President of the Pacific Coast Hunter Education Association for three terms.  He has spoken in front of the California State Assembly in Sacramento, California trying to get new legislation passed to lower the price of Elk tags in California.  That resulted in the youth tags being lowered.

As a strong supporter of his Catholic faith, he was honored to be associated with the Knights of Columbus in Gilroy, becoming a 3 rd degree.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Sam and April Giordanengo of Hilo, Hawaii, his son, Kevin Giordanengo of Morgan Hill, California and daughter-in-law, Jami. A loving and proud Nonno of;  Anne, Andrew, Jenna, Jonah and Brianna;  A beloved uncle and brother-in-law.  He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him and his one-of-a-kind smile.

A service (mass) will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 11 1 st Street in Gilroy on January 12, 2019 at noon.  Immediately following, please join us as we continue celebrating his life at the Elks Lodge in Gilroy.
