Obituary

Charlene Esters went home to Jesus on January 11 at age 83.

Char was born to Arthur and Helen Norris on March 31st, 1938 in Rock Island, Illinois. She grew up on a farm and loved riding horses.  She was the head majorette for the marching band at Alexis High School where she caught the eye of Simeon at his football practice. . They graduated on May 23, 1957 and were married 4 days later. They went on to have five children, Daniel, Julia, Jeanine, Dale and Jana. In 1984, they moved their family to San Jose California.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Char was a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse, loved sewing, working in her garden, attending bible studies and telling everyone about God's Love.  Throughout her life, she was a mother/mentor to whoever was in need and she led many people to the Lord.

Char joins her parents, Arthur and Helen, and her sister, Kathleen Dahl, in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Simeon, her sister, Bonnie Brokaw, her brother, Arthur Norris, her children, Daniel (Sandra), Julia (Michael), Jeanine (Rico), Dale (Theresa), Jana (Dave) her  17 grandchildren, Atalie, Rachel, Sarah, Jonathan, Anna, Catherine, Christian, Austin, Grace, Zach, Charlee, Devan, Aidan, Ryann, Jayden, Elijah, Kate and her 11 great grandchildren, Bailey, Paetyn, Andie, Levi, Caleb, Malachi, Pearl, Jacob, Esther, Ruth and Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be held for Charlene on January 29 th at 1:00pm at South Valley Community Church at 8095 Kelton Drive, Gilroy, CA.

She was very committed to supporting her missionary friends and giving to missions work around the world. If you would like to honor her in this way, donations can be made in her name to South Valley Community Church, Missions Dept.
