Cecilia Lupe Martinez, age 103, was the beloved wife of the late Tom Martinez, loving mother of Betty (Frank) Blundo, Ruby Estorga and the late Gloria Martinez, cherished grandmother of Robert (Tina) and Michael Estorga, dearest great-grandmother of Michael (Vy) Carlyla, Abrem (Wendy) Estorga, Sarah (George) Gomes and Casey Estorga, dear great-great grandmother of Seth and Selah Estorga. Cecilia is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family of Cecilia would like to send a special "Thank You" to Odyssey Hospice for all their loving care.

Cecilia was born in Piru, CA. Cecilia and her husband Tom moved their family to Gilroy in 1945. She helped with raising and caring for their grandchildren and opened her doors to many in need. Cecilia had strong faith in God and attended St. Mary's Church walking to Sunday service every week from her Eigleberry St. home rain or shine. She was an avid Giants baseball fan and enjoyed cooking. She hosted dinners every Sunday for over 40 years gathering her immediate family together and sharing her kind heart. God called her home to be reunited with her husband and their daughter Gloria who died in childhood. Nana left us peacefully while sleeping at home and her presence will be missed at the head of the table.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th St., Gilroy followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Parish followed by burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
