Carol Sue McMasters Manrubia was born on November 11, 1947 in San Mateo, CA to Edward McMasters and Esther Olson. She passed away peacefully on August 31, 2013 surrounded by her family in San Jose, CA. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister Frances McMasters Bloemker. Carol was the youngest of four girls. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Edward Manrubia, her best friend and daughter Michelle Manrubia-Ortega, and her adoring grandchildren Devin and Jacob Ortega, as well as sisters Joanne Helms and Barbara Puppo and many cousins.
Carol graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, Ca. in 1965 and married Edward Gary Manrubia in 1971. In 1975 she gave birth to her daughter Michelle.
Carol loved to do crafts, paint ceramics and was a quilter. She was also a great cook and homemaker. Over the years, Carol hosted superb events with grace. Perhaps it was from her background in catering combined with her naturally classy style. Throughout her lifetime, she held a variety of jobs in the food service and retail industries.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, strength and her exceptionally warm personality. Carol will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Memorials in her name can be made to the Lupus Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
