Carmen Lopez was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.  She passed peacefully surrounded by her family on July 23, 2022, at the age of 90.

Carmen was born on February 3, 1932, to Ramon and Jovita Castro, in Brawley, California.  From a young age, she worked in the agriculture and cared for her younger siblings.  Carmen devoted herself to raising her daughters, Patricia, and Helen. Over the past 50 years, she lived in San Martin with her daughter, Helen and son in law, Ray.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia, and Helen (Ray), along with grandchildren Ray (Venessa), Lisa (Aaron), and Wayne.  Great grandchildren Mariah, Genesis, Ava, Esteban, Aaron, Daniel, Natasha, and Wayne. Carmen's children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.  The legacy of her spirit and passion will live on through them.  Carmen is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Jovita and siblings, Manuel, Mary, Lydia, and James.

The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Carmen. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, traveling, spending time outdoors, creating delicious meals for her family, and she took great pleasure in countless hours of shopping. Carmen loved her family and was happy to be the central figure in their lives.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Services will be held on August 13, 2022, at 12:00 pm, St. Mary Parish.
