Bill Kofnovec of Gilroy passed away on January 5, 2023, surrounded by his five children.  Bill was 91 years old.  Father of Bill Kofnovec of Fresno, CA, Kathy Corzine of Folsom, CA, Mike Kofnovec (Susan) of Nampa, ID, Bob Kofnovec (Jennifer) of Mather, CA, and Kelly Coelho (Pete) of Marina, CA.  Grandfather of Bret Corzine, Kelly (Joe) Cardoza, Mike (Meredith) Kofnovec, Adam (Katie) Kofnovec, Justin Kofnovec, Kristy (David) Granzow, Katie (Samantha) Austin, and Kimberly (Evan) Bonnema.  Great-grandfather of 13.

Bill was born and raised in Texas.  Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War.  Bill met and married Kay in 1952 and opened the first Bill's TV in Santa Clara, CA.  He expanded his business to Gilroy, CA in 1972.  Bill owned and operated Bill's TV for 45 years, retiring in 1997.  Going to work was never a job for Bill, as he enjoyed talking with people that came into the shop.

Bill liked sports, both watching and playing.  Bill sponsored and enjoyed playing on the Bill's TV men's softball team in the 80's. As the pitcher, he continued to play until the age of 65.  Bill enjoyed bowling at Gilroy Bowl and continued bowling on a league in Morgan Hill, right up to the week of his passing.

A great cribbage player, Bill taught everyone, including his grandchildren how to play.  You could not get out of Bill's house without playing a few games of cribbage.

Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Kay Kofnovec, his brother's Anton, John, Frank, Robert and sister's Mary and Frances.

Visitation Friday, January 27, 2023 – 9:30 AM at Habing Family Funeral Home.

Then to St. Mary's Cemetery for Graveside Services at 11 AM.  Reception to follow at Old City Hall Restaurant.
