Beverly "Babe" Davis, age 95, passed away December 25, 2013. She was born in Seoul, Korea on May 29, 1918 to Paul and Elise "Momo" Baumann. Beverly lived a large portion of her life in Manila, Philippines where she married Ira Efren Davis in 1935. They had eight children; Roger, Carol, Ralph, Ronald, Patricia, Irene, Margaret and Ira Lee.
Beverly was a devoted Catholic and long-time member of the St. Mary's Parish in Gilroy, California. She led a full life, having been a church choir member while living in the Philippines, working as a school secretary in Vermont, and volunteered at St. Louise Regional Medical Center in Gilroy handing out communion to patients.
Beverly had a feisty personality and always spoke her mind. She loved to break into song when attending her senior water aerobics classes, and her love for dogs resulted in many pets throughout her life. She enjoyed surprising people by being able to speak many different languages, such as Tagalog, French, German and Korean, as a result of her unique life that lead he around the world.
"Babe" is preceded in death by her husband Ira Efren Davis and son Ralph Davis, and is survived by 7 grown children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 30, 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Our Lady's Chapel, 11 1st Street, Gilroy, CA 95020.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 900 First Street, Gilroy.
