Bertha A. Valdez was born October 1st 1953 and was a native of Gilroy, Ca. She was the fifth child of twelve children. She was the daughter of the late Trinidad and Teresa Valdez, and her siblings Socorro Alfaro, Trinidad Valdez Jr., and Gabriel Valdez. She leaves behind her siblings Rosie Valdez L, Tina Valdez, Mary Valdez, Vincent Valdez, Christine Valdez M, Andy Valdez, Bobby Valdez, Elsie Valdez H, and many nephews and nieces, cousins, and her only living uncle Juan Fernandez.

She graduated Gilroy High School in 1972. She loved and was invested in her two occupations as a bus driver for GUSD and a technician at VLSI. She was a die hard 49ers, Warriors, and SF Giants Fan. She also loved "mothering" her nephews and nieces. Bertha had many friends and was very well known for her comical and generous spirit. Bertha was a firm believer in the Lord and one of the last things she said to her sisters was "I'm going to heaven", with a heavy heart she will always be missed and in our hearts.
