After a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis, Bertha Munoz Pena passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Saint Louise Hospital in Gilroy, CA. Bertha is survived by Bobby Perez of Gilroy and as she always put it , "Her one and only blind date, that lasted 23 years". She is also survived by her daughter, Michelle Esposito of Texas, parents Raul and Dora Mendoza, siblings Lucille Beltran, Willie Munoz, Frank (Teresa) Munoz, Dorothy Farias, Edward Munoz (all of Gilroy) and Michael (Cindy) Mendoza of Folsom, CA. In addition, she was a loving aunt to many nephews and nieces. Bertha was preceded in death by her father, Willie Rocha Munoz and her younger brother, Ronnie Munoz.
A memorial mass will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 15th at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gilroy. A private burial took place at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilroy.
