Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Bernice "B" Eleonora Jaster Bode, 103, passed away peacefully with family by her side following a short illness.

She was the second child born to Nora and Herb Jaster on their farm near Medford, MN. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Angie Bode and John Bois, grandchildren, Julie Bruce, Sam Sauer and his wife Tania, great-grandchildren, Jesse and Jasmin. Husband, Herman and siblings Elmer, Marcella and Lyle predeceased her.

"B" completed her senior year of high school and two years of college at Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN. In 1940 she started teaching in Lutheran schools. She taught in Indiana, Illinois, Florida and California. While teaching in Illinois she received a Bachelor of Education from Concordia College, River Forest, IL. In the 1960's she retrained at Cal-State, LA to teach hearing impaired. She retired after teaching 42 years.

"B" was president of the Riverside Rose Society and an active member of the Low Desert Roadrunners Volksmarch group while living in Riverside, CA. She loved to entertain and enjoyed being with family and friends.

After retirement "B" moved to Gilroy to be with Angie and the grandchildren.

"B" traveled extensively before and during retirement. She visited several countries in Europe, China and Australia/New Zealand. She visited Hawaii several times and enjoyed cruising to Alaska and Mexico.

She is at home in heaven but we will miss her. She will live in our hearts until we meet again.

A service is planned for Saturday, November 16 at 1:00
