Gilroy native Ben Vega passed away from complications of Renal Failure. Ben is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Gloria Vega, his in-laws Charles and Glenda Adams, brother- in-law Paul Kloecker and sister-in-law Lynn Vega.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Tina (Adams) Vega, his two sons Benjamin (fiance Megan) Alexander (fiance Kara). His brothers Bob (Carol) and Al (Lisa) and brother in law Charlie Adams (Colleen), two sisters Pat Kloecker and Laura Simeneau (Mike) and his cherished Nephews Joe Kloecker (Lisa), Casey Adams (Alexandra), Jaden and Patrick. Nieces Valerie (Adam), Liz (Janice), Jennifer, Alyssa, Gia and Isabel.

Ben graduated from Gilroy High in 1968, attended Santa Clara University graduating in 1972. Ben taught and coached at Gilroy High for many years. He was a familiar figure along the sidelines during his son's games as well.

Ben will be remembered for his great sense of humor, generosity, love of his family and passion for travel. He was a mentor to many and inspired a new generation of educators.
