Obituary

Barbara Jean Guerini, wife, mother, homemaker and small business owner, was born in Santa Monica, California and was a 50+ year member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.

In-between shuttling the boys around town to their different activities, Barbara supported the family by operating a home-based dog grooming business for over 20 years. Barbara's love of dogs led her to become a breeder and handler of Schipperke's. For many years Barbara owned and handled one of the top 10 female Schipperkes in the United States. In addition to Schipperke's, Barbara successfully handled and raised Poodles, Schnauzers, and Border Collies. As much as she loved time with her dogs, Barbara was equally happy with horses and helped her boys develop a lifelong passion for training and riding horses.

Barbara enjoyed her classic cars and took great pride in her '59 Chevy El Camino and Nash Metropolitan, both of which were restored by her husband Albert. Barbara was also an accomplished ballroom dancer and enjoyed her time with Albert dancing at many of the great locations in the Bay Area, Hot August Nights in Reno and looked forward to yearly trips to attend Mardi Gras Balls in Mobile, Alabama.

Barbara was a mentor to many young girls who affectionally called her "Auntie Barbara." Barbara has been described by friends as kind, generous, altruistic and bubbly.

Barbara leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Albert (AJ), and sons Michael (Christine), Roy Henre (Kristy) and three grandchildren, Logan, Hailley Jo, and Makenzie.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
