Obituary

Barbara Arias was born in Santa Barbara on December 7, 1930 and passed away
peacefully after a courageous battle with heart failure and kidney failure on June 10,
2011. She resided in Rodeo, California for 56 years as a devoted wife, loving mother,
adoring grandmother and homemaker. Barbara grew up in Gilroy, California where she
met and married her husband Joseph Arias who passed away last year after 61 years of
marriage together.
She was one of eight children born to the late Peter and Charlotte Alatorre. Barbara
Arias, Peter Alatorre, Richard Alatorre, James Alatorre, Henry Alatorre, and Stanley
Alatorre will forever be remembered by their sister Amelia Gamino and brother Paul
Alatorre. Barbara and Joseph had five children. Two of their sons, Daniel Arias and
Mark Arias preceded them in death. Their daughter Jeanette Arias and son Charles Arias
presently reside in Rodeo, California. Their eldest son Joseph Arias lives in Gilroy,
California with Dorothy Arias, Barbara's loving sister-in-law and friend. Grandmother of
10, Great-Grandmother of 12, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends will treasure
the years God graced her on this Earth.
Barbara touched the lives of countless people with her laughter, generosity, and kindness.
She was certainly the heart of the family. Her love will continue to live in the memories
of those who were blessed to know her.

Friends and Family are invited to attend the viewing at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy on Saturday, June 18th between the
hours of 1pm to 3pm.
Rosary service will be held there after at 3pm until 4pm.

Refreshments will be offered at Serra Cottage in Gilroy following service.
