Arthur Neilson Blasdel Jr., aka "King Arthur", passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long battle with Parkinson's disease at the age of 75.
Art was born on October 27, 1946 in Oakland California. He was the first child born to Arthur Blasdel Sr. and Edna Phyllis Elvy, who were later blessed with two little brothers Raymond and Norman.
He is survived by his wife Linda Joeen Manley Blasdel,their cat Roary, brother Norman and son Aaron Blasdel and wife Erika, their two children Kumao and Ren and daughter Alyssa (Blasdel) Sappington and husband Derek and their two children Elizabeth and Andrew along with a niece and several cousins.
He was married to Linda on December 10, 1994 at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas Nevada.
He obtained his Bachelor Degree of Bachelor of Arts from San Jose State College in San Jose, California in 1970. He later received his life time teaching credential. He taught mathematics to the gifted children at Overfelt high school. He was also the coach of wrestling at Overfelt. Art obtained second in the state of California for wrestling.
He later became an aerospace engineer. He worked at, Rockwell International Loral Global Star and later moved to Lockheed Martin. He was manager of the satellites for Lockheed and worked in the aerospace industry for 20 years.
He enjoyed running, lifting weights, gambling, listening to music, traveling and eating chocolate ice cream.
A celebration of Art's life will be held at Habing Funeral Home on December 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Gilroy, CA.
