Obituary

Arnold Edward Echols, 80, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his
home in Aromas, California. He was born at home on September 13,
1939 to Robert and Georgia Echols in Weld County Colorado, the fourth
of nine children.

Arnold served in the U.S.M.C. from 1958-1961 and again from
1964-1970. From 1966-1967 Arnold was part of the 1st Btn, 9th
Marines, Delta Company, 3rd Marine Div, known as The Walking Dead.
In all he served two tours of Vietnam, participating in 13 operations
where he received the Bronze Star with Individual Valor. He was also a
Rifle Marksman and Pistol Expert when honorably discharged in 1970.
Prior to enlisting in U.S. Military, he was a cow hand on several large
ranches in Colorado and Arizona. After his service Arnold began his
career as a carpenter in Carson City, Nevada.
Arnold met his soul mate Beatrice in 1965, in Carson City, Nevada and
they were married on December 18, 1965. To this date, a 54 year
marriage.

Arnold is survived by his wife Beatrice Echols ,Brothers Les & wife
Dixie, Roger & wife Judy, Cliff & wife Theresa and Roy & wife Janie
Echols, sister Maggie & husband Dick Cornell. Daughter Jennifer,
Grand Children Holli, Shayne. Great Grand Children Zakary and
Zoey. Step Son Kelly & wife Jeannine Simoes, Step Daughter Sheryl &
husband Sean Grant, Grand Children David & wife Alyssa Simoes,
Joshua, Matthew Simoes, Melissa, Jason & wife Hitomi Fountain,
Andrew & Ian. Great Grand Children, Brie, Hailey and Emma, Lilly
and Logan, Addie and two more great grandsons along with numerous
nieces and nephews.

Arnold was preceded in death by sister Cathrine May, sister Lilly and
brother Albert and again numerous.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Habing-
Family Mortuary 129 Fourth Street Gilroy, California, at 10:00 am with
Pastor Kevin Stottrup officiating. Family and friends will get together at
the VFW Hall, 74 Sixth Street Gilroy, California, directly after.
